The inspiration for Sam and Jack, Woof Report, and The Dog List, comes from a lifelong love of animals and my own fur family, which includes Larry, George, and Buddy.

We adopted Larry from Pound Puppy Rescue in the San Francisco Bay Area; he came from a litter of seven Black Lab/Border Collie/Cattle Dog pups. Larry is the greatest dog (even though I know your dog is the greatest dog too!). He is a sweet, loving, ball-obsessed lap dog. Larry also happens to be a foodie with a not-so-secret crush on the mailman (treats are involved).

George is our adored Siberian cat who spends his fluffy days napping around the house and birdwatching. Naturally, you can find him on Instagram.

Buddy is our newest addition and joined our family in December 2020. He's a German Shepherd-Border Collie mix and is as smart and active as you'd expect with the combo of breeds. He loves all toys and cuddling, and keeps us on our toes!

I reside just north of San Francisco with my husband Mike and our two daughters, Sammy and Jackie, along with Larry, George, and Buddy.
